Large, Soft Window Key
Aputure 300d and Quasar Rainbow Tubes
Here is a screen shot from a shoot earlier this year with Harter Creative. We had four locations in 1 day and I was the only one in Grip & Electric so I had to work pretty efficiently.
We ended up seeing the big window in the frame and decided to let it blow out but our director dressed it with the curtains that were already there. To push the window light in and wrap it around talent I took an Aputure 300D and a 4x bounce board and put that in the corner of the room to make for a nice far side key.
Then we added the practical in the background and put on a dimmer. After that there was two 4’ Quasar tubes set to tungsten. One was a hair light in the talent and back of the couch. The other was washing that back wall to really fill that space behind the couch with tungsten and create a nice color contrast to make the talent pop.
I think the last thing I did before we rolled was bust out a 6 in 1 reflector to return a little light on to that coffee table in the foreground as it was a little dark.
